| Personal History | Born a slave, Taina was sold into imperial service. As an engineering slave aboard the ISS Echidna, she made quite an impression on her commanding officer, Captain Thomas Stiles, who had grown quite fond of her. She held her post in a gruelling battle with the Alliance which the Echidna barely survived. As a result, and as a mark of personal favor, Captain Stiles manumitted her and allowed her to enlist.
