~ Sickbay ~
Callie was sitting on a biobed feeling something like a lab specimen thanks to whatever the Caretaker and his minions had done to her, and her son. She’d been given a clean bill of health and was looking forward to getting back to Quarters with Troy. It looked like they were going to be needing family quarters a few months earlier than planned.
Troy entered Sickbay and approached the CMO's office. He depressed the intercom. "Doctor Lamont, Lieutenant Commander Marshall. I was informed that you were releasing Lieutenant Vali."
"Oh, absolutely. She's healthy and she's had enough of the medical environment for one lifetime, I think." She frowned slightly, remembering what Callie had been through.
Troy noticed Karen's expression. "Is there something I should be aware of Doctor Lamont?"
~~ Not long afterwards ~~
Callie had seen Troy enter Sickbay and head over to Karen’s office, the amount of time he was taking to come back out had her worried. What if there was something Karen hadn’t told her?
Dana was working her shift, seeing Callie looking somewhat concerned she offered a smile. “Are you alright?”
Callie nodded as she offered Dana a nod and a smile. “Just wondering what’s taking Troy so long to come out of the CMO’s office is all.”
“I wouldn’t worry” Dana smiled reassuringly. “They’re probably just discussing what you’ve bern through, advancing a pregnancy isn’t a simple task.”
Callie nodded. “I know, the Ocampan Doctors were quick enough in reassuring me my son was fine. I just hope it stays that way.”
Dana rested her hand on Callie’s shoulder for a moment. “I have some jobs to do, if you need anything just give me a shout.” With that she carried on with her duties.
Troy returned to the Sickbay proper after his short consult with Karen. He gave his wife-to-be a loving smile as he procured a wheelchair for the trip back to quarters. "You ready to go home my love?"
Callie smiled warmly. “Am I ever! But I really don’t need that.” She motioned to the wheelchair. “I can walk, in-fact I’d prefer to.”
Troy shook his head and waggled a finger at Callie, a serious expression on his face. "Not an option. You are under orders to take it as easy as possible for the next 24 hours. You may walk to the fresher once we get to quarters, but that's it. So nothing but pampering for you."
Callie couldn’t help but smile, she was so glad to be home with Troy. “Well since you put it that way” she moved to sit in the wheelchair offering Troy a bemused smile. “Let’s go home.”
Troy maneuvered behind the wheelchair and started for the exit. "Your wish is my command."
Callie sat quiet for a few minutes before speaking. “You were talking with Karen for a few minutes, is everything alright? There’s nothing wrong that she didn’t tell me is there?”
"Nothing serious. She is just concerned about your well-being, as am I. She wanted me to monitor you for the next few days."
Callie nodded. “That’s fine, I could use the rest anyway to get used to carrying around this..” She motioned to her rounded stomach.
Troy smiled as he pushed the wheel chair. "Let's get you home and comfortable."
